Post-Secondary Program

The Post-Secondary Program provides administrative assistance with applications. It helps to educate administrative assistants and funding coordinators with training to improve service delivery, meet and collaborate with others to learn what they are doing to improve operations, and provides financial assistance and support programs.

Tłı̨chǫ students can access support programs which include tutoring, virtual workshops, upskilling training, and virtual support.

1. Our Nation's Education (ONE) Student Financial Support Program provides "Top Up" funding to full-time Tłı̨chǫ Citizens in post-secondary programs. For more information please email p[email protected] or call me at 867.392.1700 ext 1703/1706

Eligibility to receive ONE funding you must be a Tłı̨chǫ Citizen, attending full-time in an approved program at a designated post-secondary institution, which will lead to a certificate, diploma, undergrad, master's, or doctoral degree. To find out if a college or university is approved, students can refer to the Master List of Designated Educational Institutions. ONE Student Financial Support Program policy is in section 8.3 of the Tłı̨chǫ Government Administrative Policy and Procedures

 
2. Dǫ Nàke Làànı̀ Nàts’etso Bursary (Strong Like Two People)  is financial assistance for students who are members of the former First Nations bands of Dogrib Rae Band, Whatì First Nation, Gamètì First Nation and Dechi Laot’i First Nation who are enrolled in a certificate, diploma or degree awarding program at an eligible post-secondary educational institution.
 
3. University and College Entrance Preparation Program provides non-repayable financial support for fulltime and part time students who are members of the former First Nations bands of Dogrib Rae Band, Whatì First Nation, Gamètì First Nation and Dechi Laot’i First Nation and who are enrolled in a university and college entrance preparation programs to enable them to attain the academic level required for entrance into degree and diploma credit programs.

  3. Download Part 3 Form Part 3 - Student Enrollment Form.  Complete this Form up to one calendar month prior to the start of each semester you plan to attend. 

​Application for Post-Secondary Graduation (submit one month prior to convocation):

  1. Download Part 4 Form - Part 4 - Graduation Celebration Form helps with graduation-related expenses, including travel.   Please note this does not apply to students in access programs. 

Deadline - Late applications will be considered for the 2022-2023 Academic School Year. 

  • Fall Deadline - July 15 (extended to August 15)
  • Winter Deadline - November 15
  • Summer Deadline - February 15

  • UCEP Grant: The UCEP program provides financial assistance to eligible First Nations and Inuit students who require academic upgrading courses to access post-secondary education. Applications for the September semester start will be accepted between May 15 and July 15.  Applications for January semester start will be accepted between September 15 and November 15.
