Post-Secondary Program

The Tłı̨chǫ Post-Secondary Program, within the Client Services Department, offers support to Tłı̨chǫ post-secondary students who are registered citizens or members of one of the former Tłı̨chǫ First Nations Bands: Dechi Laot’i First Nation (Wekweètì), Gamètì First Nation, Whatì First Nation, or Dogrib Rae Band (Behchokǫ̀). 

To be eligible for funding programs, a post-secondary educational institution must be listed on the Master List of Designated Educational Institutions as established by the Government of Canada. Adult Basic Education (ABE) Centres are not considered eligible. For more details, see the Government of Canada's  Master List of Designated Educational Institutions

The below programs are available for Tłı̨chǫ students and funded by Tłı̨chǫ Government, Canada and private donors:   

  1. Tłı̨chǫ Top-up Program
  2. Dǫ Nàke Làànı̀ Nàts’etso (Strong Like Two People) Bursary
  3. Graduation Celebration Grant
  4. Laptop Benefit Program
  5. Emergency Funds
  6. Privately Funded Scholarships  

Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses and high school equivalency programs are not eligible for funding. 


 

Tłı̨chǫ Post-Secondary Support Forms:

  2. Download Part 2 Form - Part 2 - Bank Info and Direct Deposit Request Form
  3. Download Part 3 Form Part 3 - Enrolment Form Complete this Form up to one calendar month prior to the start of each semester you plan to attend.
  4. Download Part 4 Form - Part 4 - Graduation Celebration Form Complete this Form up to one calendar month prior to the convocation ceremony date. The Graduation Celebration Form assists with expenses related to graduation, such as travel costs. Please be aware that this does not apply to students in access programs. 

 

Tłı̨chǫ Post-Secondary Funding Application Deadlines: 

  • Fall Deadline                 July 15
  • Winter Deadline            November 15
  • Summer Deadline         February 15
