CEC & ASSEMBLY

The Chief's Executive Council (CEC) is made up of a Grand Chief elected by Tłı̨chǫ citizens, and a Chief from each of the four Tłı̨chǫ Community Governments. The Chief's Executive Council oversees the Implementation of Tłı̨chǫ Laws. 

The Tłı̨chǫ Assembly (Assembly) is made up of  13 members:

  • Grand Chief 
  • Chief of Behchokǫ̀, and two representatives from the Community Government Council

  • Chief of Whatì, and two representatives from the Community Government Council

  • Chief of Gamètì, and two representatives from the Community Government Council

  • Chief of Wekweètì,  and two representatives from the Community Government Council

The Assembly sits at least five times per year. The Tłı̨chǫ Assembly is the law making body for the Tłı̨chǫ Government and has the responsibility and authority to implement the Tłı̨chǫ Agreement, and to protect and ensure good government of the Tłı̨chǫ Government and its rights, titles and interests.
