A message from the Tlicho Community Services Agency
In response to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic the TCSA has been working closely with the GNWT, and distributers to ensure that we continue to have enough protective equipment for our staff to be able to continue to provide safe services to our Tlicho Communities.
Since the announcement on Saturday of a COVID-19 case in the Northwest Territories our health centres have received multiple phone calls from community members requesting masks and other protective equipment from the health centre.
The provision of Protective Equipment supplies for healthcare providers across the territory is being monitored to ensure all facilities equipped with enough supplies to be able to continue to provide care.
A lack of proper Protective Equipment could jeopardize the ability of nurses in our communities to fight the virus.
Please remember:
Wearing a mask is not effective against COVID-19 if you are not sick.
Taking antibiotics is not effective in the treatment of COVID-19.
In order to maintain supplies for the duration for the pandemic the Health Centres will not be providing personal protective equipment to community members who are not involved in patient care.
Remember, the best things you can continue to do to protect yourself and your loved ones is to:
- STAY HOME
- Practice Social Isolation
- Wash your hands
- Avoid close contact with others
- Turn and cover your nose/mouth with a disposable tissue for every cough/sneeze
- Throw used tissues in the garbage
- Clean/Disinfect any surfaces and objects
Thank you for your help as we work together to keep our communities safe.
