OUTLINE OF THE POSITION:

EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Diploma and or certificate in Early Childhood Education, health, social sciences, and four to five years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector, and an immunization record.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, and computer skills required (spreadsheet, word processing, database and internet).
Proven ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Previous program management including planning, implementation and evaluation.

The incumbent will provide professional advice on impacts of development on wildlife and wildlife habitat in the Mǫwhì Gogha Dè Nı̨ı̨tłèè region, identify conservation problems and gaps in information & knowledge, make recommendations on resolving conservation problems, prepare proposals for research and management projects, attend local, regional, territorial, national, and international conferences and meetings as required and present departmental wildlife strategies and research results.
EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Post-secondary or Graduate Degree in one of the natural science disciplines - biology, wildlife biology, ecology, wildlife management, environmental studies, environmental science or resource management.
Minimum of five years of work experience, including at least three years in wildlife biology or a related field, and two years working with Indigenous multi-stakeholder groups, environmental assessment, and/or wildlife habitat management.
Knowledge of environmental processes that determine the distribution and abundance of terrestrial organisms and field experience in a northern environment is required.
Understanding of cross-cultural differences, as well as northern conservation and resource development and management issues.
Proven analytical and research skills and ability to estimate program costs and administer budget.
Experience using GIS systems; Microsoft Office, spreadsheet, and databases program.
Familiarity with the Tłı̨chǫ language, culture and firearm license is an asset.

The EDO coordinates delivery business focused training and workshops and maintains training and event records documenting the involvement of Tłı̨chǫ citizens and/or businesses in the programs coordinated by the EDO’s. The EDO’s provide advice, way of finding and other assistance to clients to help them access a variety of funding programs and services that are available for small business.
EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Two years in Business Administration from a college or technical school and one-year business experience in Economic Development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff across the Tłı̨chǫ region, and with other agencies.

This position will Help maintain systems to track the implementation of agreements such as IBAs and Exploration Agreements.
EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Post-secondary education in Indigenous governance, business administration, public administration, political science, or a related field.
2+ years of experience working with Indigenous governments, in administrative coordination, or in an engagement or consultation-related field.
Familiarity with economic development and/or mining and exploration industry is an asset.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to take the initiative and work independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience with data management and file organization.
