OUTLINE OF POSITION:

The Administrative Assistant is accountable for providing administrative support and executive level services for the Community Presence Office and staff, and is responsible to providing logistical support; managing and preparing correspondence and communications for Community Director and Chief; liaising with other individuals and groups on behalf of the Community Presence Office, and must abide by all relevant Tłı̨chǫ Government's Administrative Policies and Procedures and must adhere to strict confidential practices and protocol.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Office administration diploma and/or four (4) years related work experience, and equivalencies be considered
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, computer, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with wide range of different community members and partners, and work as a member of a team
  • Ability to speak the Tłı̨chǫ language is strongly recommended
  • Ability to establish and maintain electronic data bases and filing systems; use Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and the Internet for research purposes; to set up meetings on ZOOM and TEAMS and solving issues
  • Sensitive for the need of confidentiality in dealing with data, records and meetings Positive attitude and work ethic; and adhere to the Tłı̨chǫ Government's Code of Ethics
  • Familiarity with the Tłı̨chǫ Agreement, Constitution, Culture, Community and Traditions are all assets.

OUTLINE OF POSITION:

The Senior Project Officer plans and manages the implementation of assigned capital and operational maintenance (O&M) projects for Tłı̨chǫ Government infrastructure; responsible for delivering small to large capital and O&M projects, and consults with various stakeholders on project designs, oversees energy-related projects, and ensures compliance with regulatory authorities. The position engages with community organizations, ensures local and northern project involvement and manages project budgets.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Architecture with 2-years project management and several years of related experience.
  • Experience in project management process in a northern environment, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, financial control, contracting, supervision of professional consultants and contractors, and inspections.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and knowledge of Hazardous Materials and the regulations Certifications are preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and negotiation skills are essential for managing complex projects and dealing with stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a high-stress, multi-tasking environment with tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD), word processing, spreadsheets, project management and financial management systems.
  • High degree of tact, diplomacy, and experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Familiarity with the Tłı̨chǫ language, culture and way of life is preferred.
  • Class 5 driver’s license.

A recovery coach, also known as a sober coach, supports individuals battling addiction by offering guidance, moral support, and objective progress assessments. They act as role models, help clients identify triggers, create action plans, and build habits for long-term recovery.

Can I Get Certified? 
YES! This course is structured to provide the foundational skills which can lead to further certification and employment as a Recovery Coach, working closely with Tłı̨chǫ counsellors, agencies and departments.

Where is it? 
The workshop will be held in Behchokǫ̀. Transportation and accommodation can be provided to approved participants.
