Fortune Minerals Ltd proposes a cobalt-gold-bismuth mining and milling project approximately 50 kilometres north-north-east of Whati. The proposed development is within the Tłı̨chǫ territory as part of the Wekzh co-management lands. The project comprises a mine site with open pit and underground operations, ore processing mill facilities, tailings and mine rock management areas, a camp site, waste management facilities, an effluent treatment facility and roads within the mine site.
Tłı̨chǫ Government has decided to accept the Report of Environmental Assessment drafted by the Mackenzie Valley Review Board. The Tłı̨chǫ Government is in negotiations for an Impact and Benefit Agreement at this time.
