Tłı̨chǫ Government would like to congratulate Rebecca Alty on her election to represent the North as Member of Parliament for the Northwest Territories, as well as her appointment as Minister of Crown Indigenous Relations. 

This is momentous occasion to have one of our local Northerners take over such an important role upholding the treaties, rights of Indigenous peoples, and creating pathways to self-determination. Tłı̨chǫ Government is here to support the Honourable Minister Alty in her leadership and work in this important area. The appointment of strong women into key ministerial roles supporting the North represents an exciting opportunity for our governments to work together to support our Northern Indigenous communities to prosper.  

We have important shared priorities as governments that will require immediate and hard work. We are looking forward to sitting down with Minister Alty to discuss how we can work together.
