Please join Canada Revenue Agency and Service Canada representatives on this day if you need help with your taxes, benefits and credits, pension, and Social Insurance Number.

Canada Revenue Agency:

  • Help updating information like address, contact information or date of death.
  • Assist with various benefits and credits such as: GST/HST Credit, Climate Action Incentive Payment, and Canada Child Benefit.
  • Help clients understand letters from CRA
  • Obtaining tax slips for those years that need to be filed

Service Canada:

  • Obtain Social Insurance Number (SIN)**
  • Assist with Employment Insurance (EI), claims, and applications
  • Assist with Pension Programs: Retirement, Old Age Security (OAS), Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Disability and Survivors

We're Hiring: Finance Manager, Community Government of Whatì

Situated on the beautiful shores of Lac La Martre, Whatì is a vibrant community rooted in Tłı̨chǫ culture and traditions. The Community Government of Whatì is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to join our team and contribute to the financial sustainability of our community. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a vital role in managing community resources and supporting long-term growth.

The role:

The Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, payroll, and compliance. Reporting to the Senior Administrative Officer (SAO), you will ensure that all financial processes run smoothly, support key strategic decisions, and offer expert financial advice to leadership. You will be responsible for preparing financial reports, managing cash flow, developing risk management strategies and managing a team.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, who holds a CPA designation or is actively pursuing it (having completed the CFE). You should have 5+ years of financial management experience, ideally within a municipal or Indigenous government setting, and be proficient in Sage 300, Microsoft Office, and other financial tools. Strong leadership skills, a valid driver’s license, and a clean criminal record are essential for this role.

We offer a competitive hourly rate between $60 and $65, along with a Northern Living Allowance and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and pension plans.
