The Community Government of Whatì is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to join our team and contribute to the financial sustainability of our community. The role:
The Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, payroll, and compliance. Reporting to the Senior Administrative Officer (SAO), you will ensure that all financial processes run smoothly, support key strategic decisions, and offer expert financial advice to leadership. You will be responsible for preparing financial reports, managing cash flow, developing risk management strategies and managing a team.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, who holds a CPA designation or is actively pursuing it (having completed the CFE). You should have 5+ years of financial management experience, ideally within a municipal or Indigenous government setting, and be proficient in Sage 300, Microsoft Office, and other financial tools. Strong leadership skills, a valid driver’s license, and a clean criminal record are essential for this role.

OUTLINE OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Community Director of Behchokǫ̀, the Receptionist provides office management, administrative and receptionist services, as the first point of contact, he/she must act in a highly professional manner and is responsible for ensuring the maintenance and safety procedures are followed and maintained for the Community Presence Office, in conjunction with the current Training & Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator and the Tłı̨chǫ Government Administrative Policy and Procedures. He/she will be responding to inquiries from the public, receiving residents and visitors and directing to the appropriate staff, maintaining an inventory of supplies and ordering supplies as required.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Training in office procedures and/or administration program, one to two years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
- Prior operating and maintaining office equipment and technology experience
- Very good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to and willingness to work as a member of a team
- Ability to take on tasks and responsibilities with minimum supervision
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations and timelines
- Ability to speak English and the Tłı̨chǫ language
- Very good computer skills and the ability to establish and maintain electronic databases and filing systems and use Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and the Internet for research purposes

Behchokǫ̀ Ko Gha K'aodee maintains and manages the local Administrative office, Shop Maintenance building and tenant units. We are currently recruiting to fill the following casual part-time position located in Behchoke, NT.
Job information:
This position is responsible for providing custodial and grounds keeping services at the Behchokǫ̀ Ko Gha K'aodee (BHGK) and ensuring that the facility is clean for staff, and visitors. Reporting directly to the Manager, Behchokǫ̀ Ko Gha K'aodee. You will provide daily general custodial, grounds keeping and maintenance services at the community of Behchokǫ̀ Ko Gha K'aodee.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Cleans floors by sweeping, mopping and polishing;
- Vacuums rugs and carpets; spot cleans as required;
- Washes tables weekly, spot clean as needed;
- Cleans and disinfects washrooms and kitchen area; re-stocks and replenishes bathroom supplies as needed;
- Cleans and dusts entryway, offices, boardroom and hallway;
- Cleans doors, partitions and other surfaces, including windows;
- Empties trash and recycling receptacles;
- Completes other cleaning tasks as required such as wiping of door knobs and light switches during cold and flu season;
- Maintains clean and tidy entryways.
Typically, the qualifications needed are:
- Previous experience in doing routine custodial/maintenance work
- WHIMIS and other safe work procedures training
- Applicants MUST have a satisfactory criminal records check.
