Tłı̨chǫ Students Summer Job Opportunity: Intern - Environmental Consulting

The Tłı̨chǫ Government in partnership with WSP is pleased to create a fixed term, full-time summer student internship at WSP.

This position is 16 weeks in duration, starting on May 20, 2025 and ending August 29, 2025. The position is based in Yellowknife, NT.

The summer intern will be assigned a mentor who will grow the intern's learning about environmental consulting services, data collection, data entry, project management and communications.

Supported by a WSP assigned mentor, the intern will assist technical teams with document management, data collection and related data entry, and will participate in field work at the Giant Mine Remediation Project site.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have the following:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Is currently enrolled in or has just graduated from a post secondary degree or diploma program in environmental science or a related field
• Communications skills, both written and verbal, in English
• A career interest in environmental science and in collecting and analyzing data to better understand scientific changes on the land
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Ability to work in a team structure and independently
• The candidate must be a member of the Tłı̨chǫ Nation and be an NWT Resident

Additional assets for the successful candidate will include:

• Some previous work experience in mining or environmental related monitoring projects or in related post secondary coursework
• Experience using SharePoint
