They assist in providing safe and developmentally appropriate Early Childhood Programming for children and families of the Tłı̨chǫ communities in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:Grade 10, experience working with children and equivalencies will be consideredMust be a minimum of 18 years of ageSatisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks, which must be updated every 3 years and provide an annual statement on any outstanding criminal charges as neededUp to date certification in CPR and First Aid is required and/or training will be providedAll immunizations must be up to date, annual medical check-up including TB scanAbility to speak Tłı̨chǫ; knowledge of Tłı̨chǫ history and culture; experience working with special needs children is an assetMust have a Class 5 driver’s license and provide a clean driver’s abstractWillingness to enroll and complete courses toward an Early Childhood Certificate and Diploma, and to participate in annual professional developmentPositive respectful attitude, flexibility, dependability, self-motivation, sound work ethic and required to follow the code of ethics of a professional childcare providerKnowledge of current early childhood program practices and strategies; of social, community and other challenges experienced by children and families and of how to access community services and resourcesAbility to work in a multi-cultural setting with children, parents, staff and community agency representatives; manage several tasks at one time; and work independentlyExcellent interpersonal, organizational, stress management, and effective verbal and listening communication skillsTo apply, submit your resume + cover letter or to request Job Description, email: [email protected]If a suitable candidate is not identified, a Regular Competition may be conducted.
