HOTIÌ TS'EEDA BURSARY

Hotıì ts'eeda is pleased to announce that it is offering bursaries to students in the Northwest Territories (NWT) who can demonstrate how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted their ability to continue their post-secondary education and identify how a bursary would help them continue to pursue their educational goals during this challenging time.

The bursary name Ełets’àts’eedıı, means “support each other” in the Tłı̨chǫ language.

“This pandemic has created many different challenges for NWT post-secondary students, from needing access to technology for distance learning, to increasing challenges related to child care. We do not know all the barriers students may face, but we want to help if we can,” said Hotıì ts'eeda Governing Council Chair John B. Zoe. “We need to ensure that NWT students can continue their educational path. It is important to the future of the territory.”

Hotıì ts’eeda is receiving applications for bursaries valued at $5000.00 (for two semesters) for students without dependents. An additional supplement will be available for students with dependents. At this time, up to $100,000.00 in bursaries will be awarded.

Bursaries are intended to support students undertaking studies that further Hotıì ts’eeda’s mandate of fostering research and training in health and wellness.

Please visit the Hotıì ts'eeda Ełets’àts’eedıı Bursary program page to apply for this bursary and for information about eligibility.

Applications are due Aug. 7, 2020.
