The Tłı̨chǫ Government has approved COVID-19 Families On-the-Land Assistance Program - Phase 3 for Tłı̨chǫ Citizens in the Mǫwhì Gogha Dè Nı̨ı̨tłèè area (4 Tłı̨chǫ Communities and Yellowknife) beginning on June 4th.
The assistance will cover gas and groceries up to a total of $400.00, to be on the land up to 10 days. If you choose to return to the land again, you can re-apply after 14 days from your first application providing that you have submitted receipts with your name from your first purchase and show photos as proof of being out on the land from your previous application.
Application intake will be on Mondays to Wednesdays of each week with Thursdays and Fridays to process applications and issue POs to your local place of gas and grocery purchase. Applications received on Thursday and Friday will not be processed until the following week. POs will be open for 3 days once issued.
Remember that this program is to aid and NOT intended to cover all your costs of having your family out on the land during this COVID-19 pandemic. Please submit all receipts with your name written on it for your gas and grocery purchase.
While out on the land, the Tłı̨chǫ Government encourages you to stay healthy and always practice, safety first. Enjoy your time with family while preserving and enhancing the Tłı̨chǫ Way of Life.
