The 44th Annual Yellowknife Geoscience Forum was held from November 15 to November 17, 2016 in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. The Yellowknife Geoscience Forum is the pre-eminent northern geoscience conference and trade show, promoting the immense and untapped resource potential of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. The event provides a setting for the exchange of information on mineral and petroleum exploration, mining activities, and geoscience research in Canada’s north.
As always, the Department of Culture and Lands Protection (DCLP) had a display booth where staff explained to the world everything Tłįchǫ. There were also opportunities for presentations. Michael Birlea held a presentation updating the public about the Community Based Marian Watershed Monitor Program, which was held on Marian River this past fall. Overall the Geoscience Forum was a success and the Tłįchǫ Government was well represented!
