Revving-up Business in the Tłı̨chǫ Region
A series of workshops in the Tłı̨chǫ Region in January and February is focusing on individuals considering or operating small businesses. These three-day courses are scheduled in Behchokǫ̀, Whatì, Gamètì, and Wekweètì and available to up to 10 applicants.

They are part of the GNWT’s efforts to position Tłı̨chǫ residents to maximize economic benefits from the creation of the Tłı̨chǫ all-season road. The road, when completed, will connect communities year round and allow for an increase in road tourism during the summer months.

The first day of training will cover business basics like: business structure, registration, licensing and permits. It is designed for individuals considering a small business venture.

The remaining two days will focus on Business Planning and include practical experience. The first of the two days will cover the elements of an effective business plan and the second will see individuals through the process of creating a business plan.

Courses will be taking place in:
  • Whatì: January 23-25, 2019
  • Wekweètì: February 4-6, 2019
  • Behchokǫ̀: February 4-6, 2019
