The Northwest Territorieshas undergone significant change in the last few years and our governments have taken on new roles and responsibilities. Those of us who work for these governments – whether municipal, Aboriginal, territorial or federal – are innovating in response to these changes.
The theme of this conference is ‘Learning from One Another’ and it will help various officials, practitioners and academics share and showcase the innovative work being undertaken in the areas of capacity building, research, policy throughout the North.
The the Tłįchǫ Government has partnered with the NWT Regional Group of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC-NWT), the Government of Canada’s Department of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada, Government of the Northwest Territories’ Departments of Aboriginal Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations and Municipal and Community Affairs, Government, and Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy to host Northern Governance Conference (#NGC2016) from March 1-3, 2016 in Yellowknife, NT.
