Three fires started between Yellowknife and Behchoko, last night. The Department of Transportation closed the road between the Sandpits and the Rae Junction. Approximately 50 vehicles were in the Behchoko area waiting for the road to open. Road from Yellowknife to Behchoko opened this morning.  Ft Providence to Behchoko remains temporarily closed due to heavy smoke from nearby forest fires.
