Whatì Health Centre Named After Therese Jeremick'ca

The Tłı̨chǫ Community Services Agency is pleased to announce that it will be renaming the Whatì Health Centre to the Therese Jeremick'ca Nàèdı K'èezǫǫ Kộ (Health Center), effective March 22, 2024.

Affectionately referred to as Ts'èko Nechà (inspiring woman), the late Therese Jeremick'ca was the Community Health Representative of Whatì, whose legacy is marked by her selfless dedication to serving the people of Whatì. This included assisting the nurses, doctors, dentists, and optometrists with patient care, providing interpretive services, organizing community events, and offering support to those in need. Recognizing Therese's contributions to the health and well-being of the community, the TCSA Board, the Community Government of Whatì, the Tłı̨chǫ Government, and the Government of the Northwest Territories unanimously support the name change.
