Tlicho Winter Road - UPDATE

Please be advised that at 6:00 PM today, March 14th the Tlicho Winter Road to Wekweètì will OPEN to 10,000 kilograms gross vehicle weight.

Please watch for a single lane section on Portage 229 near Km 130 as well as a pressure ridge at Km 141 on Basler Lake.

The Tlicho Winter Road to Whatì is open to 22,500 kilograms gross vehicle weight.

Please watch for and slow down at an overflow area at Km 25 on Marian Lake.  

The Tlicho Winter Road to Gameti is now rated at 15,000 kilograms.

Please watch for construction equipment working on lakes and portage throughout the winter road system.  When travelling on NWT winter roads you should carry plenty of fuel and ensure a responsible person knows when you are leaving and when you expect to reach your destination.
