Behchokǫ̀ (June, 16, 2016) – The Tłı̨chǫ Assembly has approved a Harvesting Subsidy Payment of $250 to each enrolled Tłįchǫ Citizen.

The Harvesting Subsidy Payment will be made on July 12-13, 2016 at the Tłı̨chǫ head office for Tłı̨chǫ Citizen residents of Behchokǫ̀ and at the local Tłı̨chǫ Government Community Presence office for Tłı̨chǫ Citizen residents of Whatì, Gamètì and Wekweètì.  If you are not able to pick up your cheque, Corporate Services will mail your cheque to the address stated in your Tłı̨chǫ Citizen file.

Please note that Tłı̨chǫ citizens will have to complete a form acknowledging receipt of Harvesting Subsidy Payments. This form can be downloaded from www.tlicho.ca and hard copies are available for completion at the Tłı̨chǫ head office in Behchokǫ̀ and the Tłı̨chǫ Government Community Presence offices in Whatì, Gamètì and Wekweètì.

Tłı̨chǫ citizen’s applications will be accepted until July 11, 2016.  If your completed Tłı̨chǫ citizens application is approved you will be eligible for the Harvesting Subsidy Payment of $250 at a later date, once you have completed the form acknowledging receipt of Harvesting Subsidy Payments.

Please note that the Tłı̨chǫ Government Administrative Policy and Procedure Manual requires that any outstanding cheque which cannot be located and/or if the cheque is stale dated, the cheque will be removed from the outstanding cheque list on March 31st and funds will be reimbursed to the Tłı̨chǫ Government’s general account.

Cheques will not be reissued more 90 days after the year-end in which they were stale-dated.

To avoid delay, it is the responsibility of Tłı̨chǫ citizens to update and keep current their contact information with the Enrollment Coordinator.
