TK Elders Camp and Caribou Monitoring Program

Tłı̨chǫ Government Department of Culture and Lands Protection (DCLP) values, recognizes and promotes respectful harvesting within Mǫwhì Gogha Dè Nı̨ı̨tłèè in areas outside of the current no-hunting zone. We are also encouraging Tłı̨chǫ Citizens to share their own Traditional Knowledge on Tłı̨chǫ harvesting with our TK Elders Camp and Caribou Monitoring Program.

The Tłı̨chǫ TK Elders Camp and Caribou Monitoring Program is located at Portage 2 along the Gahcho Kue northern route access road off the Tibbitt-Contwoyto winter road. Tłı̨chǫ Government DCLP welcomes harvesters to visit our camp for hot beverages and snacks, and to share stories on hunting caribou with our Lead Researcher.

All research gathered will be used to strengthen Tłı̨chǫ traditional practices and support respectful and responsible harvesting. When sharing information, you may choose to remain anonymous.
