Tłı̨chǫ Highway Harvest Reporting - Attention All Harvesters

The Tłı̨chǫ Government’s Department of Culture and Lands Protection is developing a wildlife monitoring program for the Tłı̨chǫ Highway, a 97 km all-season road extending from Highway 3 to Whatì.

In response to the concerns raised about impacts to tǫdzı, hozìı ekwǫ, and dedı̀ı, the Tłı̨chǫ Government is working closely with harvesters and Elders to develop a Tłı̨chǫ Highway Harvest Reporting Program.

Reporting your harvest will help us to know if wildlife harvest restrictions are needed on the Tłı̨chǫ Highway, so that we can ensure we are doing everything we can to protect tǫdzı, hozìı ekwǫ, and dedı̀ı.

Voluntary Harvest Reporting

  • If you have harvested a moose or caribou on or near the Tłı̨chǫ Highway please report it to a wild-life monitor or TG DCLP staff Stephanie Behrens or Tyanna Steinwand.
  • Your name will be put into a draw for a drum of gas. We will give out 1 drum of gas every month of the harvest season (September-May).

If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Behrens, or Tyanna Steinwand at the Tłı̨chǫ Government Department of Culture and Lands Protection office at : 1-867-392-6381.
