Swearing In Ceremony of Grand Chief George Mackenzie

You are invited to the swearing in ceremony of Grand Chief George Mackenzie, today on Friday, September 15th, 2017 at 6pm at the Kǫ̀ Gocho Centre (Gym),  in Behchokǫ̀, NT. Ceremony to follow after  feast. 

Drum dance will take place at the cultural center after feast. Handgames for 16 and under and 17 and over will take place on Saturday at the Cultural Center. (Time to be determined).

George Mackenzie has been elected as Grand Chief for the Tłı̨chǫ Government for a four year term.  George Mackenzie, was first elected as Grand Chief after the Tłı̨chǫ Government came into effect in 2005. Prior to being elected on September 11, 2017, George Mackenzie served as president of Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation, served on numerous boards. In addition George Mackenzie, was vice-principal and cultural program instructor with CJBS.  He has worked tirelessly teaching, the Tłı̨chǫ way of life, to youths, and organizations like the Prince of Wale Northern Heritage Museum.
