Congratulations to Mr. Van Camp, of the Dene Nation from Fort Smith, nominated to the Order of the Northwest Territories for his work in the arts and culture. With over twenty published books in two decades, he's mentored young writers and conducted readings and workshops across the North. Collaborating with NWT Literacy Council and the Department of Education, Culture, and Employment, helping build the inventory of 'made in the North' reading materials. A pivotal figure in enhancing Indigenous representation, as well as planting a seed that has grown into the Northwords Writers Festival, celebrating 18 years in 2023.
