Restriction on Water & Sewage Services
On November 23, 2017, Whati four Bay Garage sustained fire damage.  Leaving one water and sewage truck to service the community.

Therefore we ask our community members to conserve their water usage.  Call out fee of $25, will increase to $75 effective December 1st, 2017.

We ask for your continued patience and support.  Restriction will be in place until a new water and sewage truck can be delivered – when the winter road opens to traffic.

There were many community members that helped in the fighting of the fire.  Appreciation to all those who helped. Thank you to our acting Fire Chief, Leo Romie, who was on scene to coordinate the volunteers, and oversee the incident.  Additional thank you to our staff, and RCMP in controlling the scene and assisting.

I would like to give a special thank you to staff member, Travis Nitsiza, who was brave enough to enter the building, and tried to open the garage door, however, due to circumstances he was not able to get the door to open wide enough for the water truck to drive through.  Therefore he drove the truck through the garage door, saving the water services to the community.  Travis was medevac out due to smoke inhalation and has since been discharged from the hospital.  If it was not for his heroic efforts, we would not have water service delivery.  As Senior Administrative Officer of the community, I cannot thank him enough, every time I see him.
