Pride Month – A Celebration of Self and Others

June is Pride Month and it’s dedicated to uplifting, celebrating, and supporting the 2SLGBTQ* community.

Pride Month is held in June to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Riots, a confrontation at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village between New York police and the city's LGBT community. The riots marked a turning point in the gay rights movement in the United States and around the world.

The purpose of marking Pride Month is to recognize the positive impact that 2SLGBTQ+ individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.
