New Speech Therapist Joins Tłįchǫ Community Services Agency

Marion Alexander is from Thunder Bay, ON.  She has a master’s degree from University of Ottawa, and has worked in Kenora, Ontario, for Firefly Northwest Children Services then worked for the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

She will work on a speech therapy program offered to children between the ages of 0 – 5 years of age. Helping children and caregivers develop children’s speech skills so that they are ready for school. Program will help children’s language grow as they are playing and having fun on an individual and group setting. 

The program will start running after the Christmas holidays. 

If caregivers are wondering if their child is having problems with his or her speech, they can be referred for speech therapy services by daycare/preschool staff and by nurses at the health centre.  Caregivers can also pick up a referral form at the front desk of the Health Centre.
