Shawn Atleo, National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, was in Behchoko, NT yesterday. 

National Chief Atleo known for encouraging education, spoke and visited with high school students at Chief Jimmy Bruneau School and Elizabeth Mackenzie Elementary School. 

"Tlicho Grand Chief Eddie Erasmus says he hopes the visit will be a learning opportunity for youth.

"Hopefully the community will learn about what he does, especially our young people," he said. "We don't get to see the National chief of the Assembly of First Nations every day."

Atleo also met with the Tlicho chiefs and attended a community feast. Later this week, he'll make his way to Fort Simpson for a Dene leadership meeting."
