On April 23, Grand Chief Jackson Lafferty and Chief Clifford Daniels hosted The Honourable Bill Blair, Canada’s Minister of National Defence and Michael McLeod Member of Parliament for the Northwest Territories, in Behchokǫ̀, NT.

They discussed Arctic security, NORAD modernization, and the impacts of the wildfires, the upcoming season and preparing the communities. The Tłı̨chǫ Government will continue to coordinate and communicate with Canada on opportunities to strengthen resilience in the North. Minister Blair was also gifted a painting made by Tłı̨chǫ artist Archie Beaulieu.
