Sunday, March 8th is International Women’s Day, Tłı̨chǫ Government recognizes the many remarkable wise and strong women among our people. The role of women, must be both respected, and honoured. Both traditionally, and in our modern economy, women play a fundamental role in supporting and leading our people.

Of 99 Tłı̨chǫ Government employees – 87 are female – There are very few other governments with these kinds of numbers. Today, our Tłı̨chǫ Government have highly educated women. These are women who are strong in our language and culture. and running programs for our people that are reflective of our way of life.

Tłı̨chǫ Government acknowledges that there have been, and still are, challenges in making sure we live in a society of equality and respect, but through our actions, and support to each other, we can make it so. To our grandmothers, sisters, mothers, aunts and daughters - We respect the work you do, and thank you all for your important role in our society.
