RECOVERY COACH 41028 FEBURARY OPEN TO TLỊCHO COMMUNITIES
First Tłı̨chǫ Recovery Coach Program Completed

The Tłı̨chǫ Government’s Department of Healing and Community Wellness is proud to announce the successful completion of the first-ever Recovery Coach Certification program, held in Behchokǫ̀ from February 24 to 28, 2025.

Over the course of five days, 20 participants from Tłı̨chǫ communities engaged in 40 hours of training focused on foundational recovery coaching skills. The program, open to individuals dedicated to supporting healing in their communities, provided valuable tools for guiding those struggling with addiction.

Recovery coaches—also known as sober coaches—offer support, guidance, and mentorship to individuals on their path to recovery. Participants learned how to help clients identify triggers, set recovery goals, and build sustainable, long-term habits.

A special congratulations goes out to the 14 participants who have chosen to continue their training in the 20-week Recovery Coach Mastery program. Their commitment marks a powerful step toward strengthening community-based healing and wellness.

Transportation and accommodation were provided to approved participants, ensuring accessibility for those across the Tłı̨chǫ region.

The Department of Healing and Community Wellness extends it's thanks to everyone who helped make the program a success—and to all the new Recovery Coaches who are now part of this important work.
