Join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays (from 6:30 to 8:30 pm) at the Kǫ̀ Gocho Centre for Family Fun Night.
Together, you and your child(ren) are invited to join us for a night of learning, reading and fun!
Our program offers:
- Homework support and encouragement!
- Grammar & phonics worksheets for ages in grades Kindergarten to grade 6.
- An online reading program with over 1,000 titles which high lights and reads the words to you.
- Academic subjects and reading tips for parents.
If your child has specific homework and needs help with reading or studying strategies, we would love to support you as you impart academic knowledge to your family.
There is also an opportunity to come and meet with other parents in the community to discuss concerns you may have about your child. This is a night focused on supporting a community of learners, and one another.
There is also an opportunity for a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) or Parents Club (PC) to be formed through our Family Fun Night Group. Our program will encourage and support you to be more involved with your child's elementary to post secondary educational experience.
A couple of our parents have already attended a First Nations Parent Club workshop in Vancouver - during this workshop parents listened to motivational speakers, networked with other parents and exchanged their knowledge and ideas.
Hope to see you there! And we are always looking for a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers.
If you would like to volunteer please drop by the Kǫ̀ Gocho Centre.
