The Natural Resources Training Group had two instructors in Behchokǫ̀ teaching the Environmental Field Skills course over the summer. We had eight students complete the course and some got their electrofishing certification. Topics in the course included mapping, GPS, data collection, fish and fish habitat assessment and water quality monitoring. The eight students who completed the course are: Brian J Mantla, Darcy Mantla, Darrell J Mantla, Frederick Beaverho, Gary Drybones, Layah Rabesca, Rianna Camsell and Martina (Bertha) Wedzin. The three week long course was held at the Aurora College adult learning center for the theory part of the course and out on the land for the practical component. Congratulations to the students on their course completion! We are hoping the course helps you gain employment in the field of your choice. Masi cho!
