Behchokǫ̀ Wilderness Safety Program - 2022 Winter Courses

Register for the Wilderness Safety Program Courses for Winter 2022 in Behchokǫ̀.   The series of courses below will help you build, develop and hone the essential skills needed for on-the-land programming.  

There are two options:

Full time Option 1 - Wilderness Safety Certification are courses 1 to 10 for seven weeks. 

Part time Option 2 - Take Individual courses 1-16, and take part time program.

Courses

  1. Canadian Firearms Safety Course (required to get your firearms licence): 12 students, 2 days
  1. Conflict Resolution: 15 students, 1 day
  1. Temi Bag Sewing: 12 students, 4 days
  1. Red Cross Advanced Wilderness First Aid: 12 students, 5 days
  1. Wilderness Trip Preparation, and land crisis scenarios: 12 students 5 days
  1. Bear Safety: 15 students 2 days. Bear Guard upgrade:15 students, +1 extra day
  1. Safe Working on Ice: 12 students, 2 days.
  1. Maps and GPS: 12 students, 3 days
  1. WTA Chainsaw Level 2: 8 students, 2 days.
  1. SVOP and SDV-BS (Required for commercial boat driving): 12 students, 5 days.
  1. WTA Chainsaw Level 3: 8 students, 3 days.
  1. Red Cross Standard First Aid: 12 students, 2 days
  1. Environmental Monitor Training Program (Eco Canada): 12 students, 5 weeks.
  1. Canadian Safety Council Snowmobile Safety: 6 students, 1 day.
  1. Paddle Canada Canoe Courses: 12 students, 3 days.
  1. Marine Radio, ROC(m): 12 students, 2 days
