$5000 Student Support Bursay

Hotıì ts'eeda announces Ełets’àts’eedıı (Support Each Other) $5000 bursary created to help NWT students impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. 

To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must:
  • Provide proof they are an NWT resident;
  • Provide proof of full-time enrollment at a designated post-secondary educational institution or program;
  • Be in a program that leads to a licence, certificate, diploma, or degree that fulfills Hotıì ts’eeda’s mandate of fostering research or training in health and wellness; and 
  • Demonstrate that they have been negatively financially impacted by Covid-19 pandemic precautions.

Priority will be given to Indigenous residents who have demonstrated a financial need and are in a program of study related to health and wellness.  Applicants who identify as First Nation, Inuvialuit, or Métis must provide proof of membership. 

To apply, students must review the information and criteria to apply on the Hotii ts’eeda website, fill out the application form (here in PDF) or website at www.nwtspor.ca, provide proof they meet the requirements of the bursary, and submit a Letter of Intent that describes the barriers they face as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, identify their sources of income, and how they intend to use the funds to further their education.
