RE: Working from Home Safety and COVID-19
DATE: March 30, 2020

The Tłı̨chǫ Government has been monitoring the global COVID-19 outbreak and as part of keeping all employees and clients safe, the offices are closed and employees are working from home. Adjusting to working from home can take some getting used and there are also a few things that employees need to remember to practice safe work procedures. Occupational Health and Safety policy continues to apply even while working from home.

All employees should do the following:

  • Find an area in the home that's conducive to working and allows employees to stay focused.
  • Ensure that the workspace area is clutter free, there are no tripping hazards around (loose cables, boxes etc.)
  • In case of an injury (trip, slip etc.) report it to your supervisor immediately as well as myself, the Human Resource Manager and fill out an incident report form. If the injury is serious please seek medical attention but call the health center ahead of visit and practice social distancing. If injury is serious the WSCC report of injury form will need to be filled out.

This is a stressful time for everyone, please review the attached posters for working from home and COVID-19.

Tłı̨chǫ Government will continue to evaluate the situation and keep employees updated.

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
